Compensation and Benefits

The Anticipated Hiring Salary is $80,000 - $92,000 per year and is competitive and negotiable depending on the strength of qualifications. This is a CSU Management Personnel Plan (MPP) position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

This position is a member of the University Advancement division and is assigned to the Ag One/Jordan College Development office whose mission is to support, benefit and promote the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, its programs and activities. The position reports through the Ag One Executive Director/Senior Director of Development and works in partnership with the dean of the Jordan College of Agricultural Science and Technology. The Director of Development is responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Director, in partnership with the dean, the AVP for Development, and the Ag One Executive Director/Senior Director will plan and implement development and campaign strategies and assist in strategy conversations on volunteer leadership.

The Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology draws on its deep roots in the Central Valley to prepare students today to be productive, resilient leaders in a sustainable global agriculture and food sector of the future and pursues its mission through various aspects of involvement: direct instruction and student development; research, scholarly and creative activities; and institutional development. Faculty and students conduct applied research and public service in selected areas of agriculture, food sciences, industrial technology, and family sciences. Programs combine a science, technology and management focus with experiential learning. The College seeks to enhance the ability of students to be successful in their chosen careers and to make positive contributions to the quality of life in their communities. The 1,000 acre campus farm includes 16 enterprises and is a vital part of the hands-on educational and research programs of the college. The Ag One Foundation exists for the sole purpose of supporting fundraising in the Jordan College. Working in partnership, the Ag One Foundation benefits, promotes and supports the college and its programs. Over the years, donors, board members and volunteers have made it possible to award some 5,000 students with over $8.5 million in scholarships and program support. For the 2022-23 academic year, Ag One will provide more than $850,000 to deserving students and programs.

  • History of regular attendance and positive performance evaluations.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of four years of increasingly responsible and successful fundraising experience or professional experience with transferable skills such as sales, marketing or public relations.
  • Demonstrated track record in working with individuals and groups, ability to work as a member of a team, recognition of the importance of education to individuals and society.
  • Exposure to management, including budgetary responsibilities.
  • Experience with a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience with capital/comprehensive campaigns and/or specific experience in major gift solicitation, corporate foundation relations or constituent relations.
    • Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
      • Master's or other advanced degree preferred.
      • Familiarity with the agriculture industry.
      • Experience/background in higher education.
      • Experience with alumni/donor databases and campus applications such as Advance, Reeher or Raiser’s Edge or a membership organization database.
