The Department of Public Health (DPH) is recruiting for Registered Dietitians* who plan, develop, implement, and evaluate community nutrition programs for targeted populations. Immediate vacancies exist within the DPH, which may include positions in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), DPH Clinics (Clinic Operations), Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention/SNAP-ed grant (NEOP), and/or Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) programs. Program placement is based upon department discretion, and contingent upon organizational/staffing coverage needs.
The list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies within WIC and DPH Clinics.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Travel/Driver License: Incumbent may be required to travel throughout the County to work in multiple offices within a specified region, such as the High Desert (e.g., Victorville, Barstow), Low Desert (e.g., 29 Palms, Yucca Valley), and surrounding San Bernardino areas. Employees may be required to make provision for transportation; mileage reimbursement is available. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
Background Investigation: Registered Dietitian* incumbent must pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting, and verification of employment history and education.
COVD-19 Vaccination: Dependent on program assignment, some positions may require vaccination against COVID-19. Please review the vaccination requirement below.
Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be "fully vaccinated and boosted" for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. COVID-19 Testing Requirements
Workers in impacted health care facilities who are not "fully vaccinated and boosted" are required to submit to COVID-19 testing at least twice per week to meet testing requirements.

Registration**: Applicant must possess and maintain current registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
**NOTE: The registration number affirming current registration as a Registered Dietitian must be submitted/provided on the application by the filing deadline.
Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply.
