Positions allocable to this class are responsible for providing nursing assistance in a community health or hospital clinic to physicians conducting diagnostic physical examinations and performing medical treatments by readying patients and examining rooms, making vital sign observations, administering ordered medications and treatments, and reinforcing the physicians' instructions to the patients. - Reviews patients' records to determine the purpose of the visit and whether or not patients' chart, x-rays or lab test results are ready or must be located for the physician.
- Sets up the area to be used by the physician by obtaining and arranging the required supplies, equipment and instruments and the patients' charts, x-ray, and lab test results.
- Observe patients to determine condition and need for immediate referral to physician.
- Prepares the patient for examination and for treatment by the physician by transferring, positioning and draping the patient and cleansing areas of the patients' body, and hands instruments to the physician during treatments and procedures.
- In accordance with the physicians' orders, administers medications and immunizations orally and by intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.

- Administers medications by injection, orally, and other pre-determined methods with the exception of research drugs as determined by the Medical Department.

- Measures and records vital signs; records bed care procedures, treatments, indications and nourishment provided and output.

Additional Information EXAMINATION CONTENT:
This exam will consist of an online un-proctored Work Styles Assessment (WSA) written test weighted 100%, covering the following areas: professional potential, achievement, working relationships, analyzing information, learning quickly, generating new ideas, using time efficiently, working to high quality standards, adapting to change, coping with uncertainty, willingness to learn, responsibility, deductive reasoning.
Applicants will receive instructions via email on when and how to log on and take the online un-proctored written test.WRITTEN TESTS ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.
Candidates must meet the Selection Requirements and achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on the qualifying written test in order to be placed on the Eligible Register.

- This examination contains test components that may be used in the future for new examinations and your test scores may be transferred.

Successful candidates will remain on the register for a period of twelve (12) months following the date of eligibility.No person may compete in this examination more than once every twelve (12) months.
