Position Overview

*This recruitment is an open-continuous recruitment and shall remain open until such a time as a sufficient pool of highly qualified applicants has been developed. Once a sufficient pool of applicants has been developed, this recruitment will close without notice.

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Park Planner in the Department of Parks and Recreation. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to twelve (12) months.

The first review of applications will take place on Monday, July 18, 2022. Under general supervision, performs landscape architectural design functions in the development of parks, trails, and open space projects; advises on applicable codes and standards; and performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering or a closely related field
  • Four (4) years of experience in the design and management of public park projects
  • Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
  • Registration as a Professional Landscape Architect in the State of Nevada within one (1) year of hire
  • Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
