The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in Environmental Engineering during the 2022-23 academic year. The position is renewable based on department needs and candidate performance.
The position will be 80% combined teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate-level research, with a 20% release for efforts in course development, instructional training, professional development, and department advising needs. For example, the postdoctoral fellow will enhance their teaching and scholarship by engaging with campus entities including Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology; Office of University Diversity and Inclusivity; Grants Development Office; and Center for Service in Action.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or a closely related field by the time of appointment, leading-edge knowledge, and the willingness and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental chemistry, solid and hazardous waste management, thermodynamics, and conventional and renewable energy systems.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred: environmental chemistry, solid and hazardous waste management, thermodynamics, and conventional and renewable energy systems.
