Performs professional and administrative work supporting public health accreditation, workforce training, and community health assessment and planning activities of the Missoula City-County Health Department.

Representative Examples of Work

Provides professional and administrative support to the Health Promotion Director and department accreditation team in department-wide accreditation planning, preparation, documentation, maintenance and improvement activities. Coordinates department-wide workforce development, assessment and training activities. Arranges for and may provide training related to public health skills for department staff. Provides professional leadership and support of community-based health assessments and health improvement plans. May represent the department at a variety of functions. Collaborates with community representatives on community health assessment and community health planning and implementation. Prepares drafts and final versions of plans, reports, department publications, and accreditation materials; compiles progress reports, assessment and planning documents; prepares policy and protocol drafts. Records group decisions; creates and manages tracking templates for documents and training; uploads information to the Public Health Accreditation Board's web-based application and documentation site. Serves as a member of the department's performance management and quality improvement steering committee. Participates in department-wide performance management, quality improvement and workforce development activities. Works within the incident command structure during emergencies. Attends meetings and planning groups to solicit or provide information related to accreditation and its components including performance management and quality improvement. Recruits support from community organizations, resource people and potential participants for assistance with the project. Performs literature reviews, gathers and compiles a variety of materials and information; develops and disseminates materials in various formats including print and electronic. May draft grant applications related to accreditation requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree. Degrees best suited to this position include science, social science, health science, education or planning. Requires two years of experience in a health care services field that involved technical writing, research or accreditation activities.

Physical/Environmental Demands

Works primarily in an office setting. Requires occasional medium lifting up to 25 lbs (ex: audio visual equipment, written materials).
