Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for an Institutional Review Board (IRB) Coordinator to coordinate, review and provide recommendations of compliance during research studies using Federal Regulations for the ARMC IRB. Duties include assisting and screening IRB applications for completeness received from residents, physicians, and nursing departments within the hospital, the Department of Public Health, and other San Bernardino County agencies. This position identifies and advises IRB of potential areas of non-compliance; processes IRB approvals, protocol amendments, and renewals, adverse events and study closures; and provides guidance, support and training to investigators, survey team, and research staff regarding procedural requirements for submission. This position will be assigned to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Office of Research and Grants.

Candidates: are expected to work with information involving academia, project management, and able to present to a group of people or hospitals IRB's, Independent IRB's or other institutions or facilities involved in conducting research. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Vaccination Requirements: On December 24, 2021, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) updated the Public Health Officer Orders regarding COVID-19 vaccination requirements to include the COVID-19 vaccine booster. This impacts workers in health care settings within hospitals, high-risk congregate settings, and other health care settings. Workers in health care settings are to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders now requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be "fully vaccinated and boosted" for COVID-19 by February 1, 2022.
New hires who are not yet eligible for boosters must be in compliance no later than 15 days after the recommended timeframe as outlined in the table below.

COVID-19 Testing Requirements
Workers in impacted health care facilities who are not "fully vaccinated and boosted" are required to submit to COVID-19 testing either once or twice per week to meet testing requirements.
Background: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation which includes fingerprinting and verification of employment history.
Office Hours: This position is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm in the office at the hospital.
Education: Twenty-four (24) semester, thirty-six (36) quarter, units of completed college coursework in Communications/Journalism, Public/Business Administration, Education, Health Care Administration, Health Science, Biology, Behavioral or Social Science.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in project or grant management working in a clinical environment which includes coordinating and planning duties.
An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter who is motivated to take initiative on various assignments. This candidate will have over (2) years of relevant IRB experience within the last five (5) years; possess an ongoing commitment to the protection of human subjects and research ethics and serves as a resource when providing information on Federal and State Regulations and Institutional Polices that relate to human subjects research to investigators, staff, and IRB Board committee members. A Bachelors Degree or higher, plus Institutional Review Board Coordinator (IRB) Certification are highly desirable.
