Minimum Qualifications:
  • Earned doctorate in an appropriate field of study and demonstrated record of commitment to educational equity and social justice. ABD candidates will be considered but must have completed the doctorate at the time of appointment (August 2022).
  • Significant preparation in multicultural and/or multilingual content, including critical pedagogy, first and second language acquisition theory, and bilingual programs.
  • Understanding of and direct experience with students, families and communities representing a wide range of ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual / biliterate proficiency in Spanish/English is preferred.
  • Experience in bilingual / dual language education.
  • University teaching experience in multicultural and/or multilingual education courses.
  • Evidence of collaborative work in PK-12 schools.
  • Active research agenda in multicultural and/or multilingual education.
  • Minimum of two to three years of teaching in diverse settings.
  • Demonstrated effective use of technology in teaching.
  • Experience in the education of English learners.
  • Experience in inclusive settings.


    One tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level is available for individuals with expertise in one or both of the areas of Multicultural and/or Multilingual Education. Applicants should have demonstrated excellence in teaching and record of, or potential for educational research in an appropriate field. Candidates for this position are expected to teach courses in multiple program areas including multicultural/multilingual education courses in K-12 teacher preparation and in the master's program, as well as supervise candidates in clinical practice and in the master's program.
