Salary Range: $15.79-$23.16/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Performs a variety of manual labor and semiskilled tasks in the maintenance and electrical repair of water treatment plants related system facilities and equipment by performing the following duties: dig trenches, install shoring, set-up concrete forms, and backfill open trenches; operate washers, sandblasters, and other maintenance equipment; flush drains and pipes and perform inspections and preventative maintenance on all mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment such as pumps, valves, motors, engines, compressors, and generators; 120 volt systems, lighting ballast, perform a wide variety of repairs to pumps, mechanical screens, degritting equipment, chlorine machines, sludge and grit conveyors, aerators, clarifiers, belt filter presses, chemical handling, and odor abatement equipment; assist in construction and repair of tanks and pump houses, working from blue prints and sketches; assist in the repair overhaul, and maintenance of all pumps, process and building equipment, power transmission devices at the plant stations, including hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; and perform other routine duties as assigned.
REQUIRES completion of a trade school or a shop training program; OR 6 months experience in general maintenance and repair work. May be required to obtain a valid MO Class A,B, or C CDL prior to the end of the probationary period as determined by the department. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
