Position: Assistant Professor of Information Systems
Starting Date: August, 2022
1) An earned doctorate in Information Systems or a closely-related field from an AACSB accredited institution is required; however, applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered. For appointment, the doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment (8/18/2022).
2) Evidence of training and experience in one or more of the following areas: Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity.
3) Evidence of successful teaching experience at the university level.
4) Evidence of publications or pending publications in refereed conference proceedings.
1) Applicants specializing in Cloud Computing or Artificial Intelligence will be given preference.
2) Evidence of publications or pending publications in refereed scholarly journals.
3) Evidence of successful teaching experience in Information Systems at the graduate level.
4) Evidence of industry experience in Information Systems.
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities generally include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.
The successful candidate may be expected to develop new courses in emerging and innovative technology.

Salary: Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department of Information Systems:
The Department of Information Systems has a long history of offering well-established undergraduate and graduate programs in Information Systems. It is one of the earliest departments in California to offer a Master of Science in Information Systems program. A successful dual-degree program combining Information Systems with other areas of study in the business school is also a key pillar of its programs. The faculty members in the Department have varied academic and professional backgrounds, maintain their Scholarly Academic (SA) status by AACSB standards, and are flexible in their teaching preferences across multiple domains of Information Systems. They help the students build technical and managerial skills around today's high-demand IT and IS fields including business and social analytics, business intelligence, healthcare informatics, big data and ERP, computer communications and networking, cybersecurity, Internet of things, and cloud computing. Taking advantage of its location in the heart of Los Angeles city, the Department has established alliances with industry leaders such as Microsoft, IBM, SAP, Amazon, Oracle and Tableau to provide the students with state-of-the-art, hands-on education in cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
