This position provides administrative support to the Associate Vice President of Public Affairs and Advocacy, the
Office of Public Affairs and Advocacy, and the University's anchor university efforts. In general, this position requires
a high degree of professionalism and strong organizational and communication skills. The position requires extensive
contact with the general public, and interactions with both the internal campus community and external groups and
organizations. This position also requires a high level of maturity and judgement to handle confidential information
and documents. This includes the preparation, compilation, analysis, and submission of required division and anchor
university budget documents and projections. In addition, the position requires confidential human resources
management for the department. The position also requires familiarities with government relations and community
engagement, including protocols for dealing with elected officials, government agencies, and community
organizations. This position will require some evening and weekend hours as needed. FLSA

The office serves as the official voice of the University in engaging with community and government agencies at the local, state, and federal level. Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field
with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would
normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience
involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies,
procedures, practices, or programs. Required Qualifications
1. Experience providing administrative support and clerical support at an executive level.

7. Experience and proficiency with all standard office software (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

9. Ability to accurately schedule meetings for Associate Vice President and campus community members.
10. Ability to plan and execute major events.
11. Ability to produce clear and concise documents and reports.
12. Ability to provide basic training and direction to others.

16. Experience working with budgets, including forecasting and reconciliation.

23. Experience with campus data warehouses (Financial Data Warehouse, CFS Finance Access, OnBase,
PeopleAdmin, CMS HR/SA).
24. Knowledge of and experience with University policies and procedures.
25. Critical thinking skills to make recommendations in office/ campus operational policies and procedures.
26. Knowledge and understanding of the CSU Chancellor's Office, including but not limited to, the CSU Office
of Advocacy and State Relations, in Sacramento.
27. Analytical skills to participate in short-term and long-term strategic planning for the Office of Public Affairs
and Advocacy, including assessment of communication and infrastructure needs of the office.
