The successful candidate will teach business and strategic management practices in the wide-ranging field of entertainment and have research interests and/or practical experience in fields such as international content creation and business practices and/or DEI strategies in management and content. Experience with streaming content across all forms of entertainment media, social media as marketing and/or content, the emerging use of AI in media research and creation, and/or talent management is also a plus. In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, participation in assessment of student learning, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion. Required Qualifications: Graduate degree from an accredited institution in Film-Television Studies (or related field) or in Business/Law (or related field), or a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressively responsible industry experience. College or University-level teaching experience Experience in the current entertainment and media business environment. Ability to engage with students, professional organizations, and the community at large as a mentor, advocate, and advisor. Experience implementing strategies surrounding diversity and equity in either the realm of content creation or media business practices: For content creation examples include, but are not limited to: film, television shows, and documentaries positively addressing issues relating to diversity, equity and inclusion in which the candidate was involved in the creation (producing, writing, or directing, etc.) or candidate assumed a considerable role in the production of applicable content. For Media business practices, examples include, but are not limited to: leadership positions in which a candidate was responsible for developing/implementing DEI initiatives, hiring practices, and/or advancement and promotion of employees; the creation and implementation of marketing and advertising campaigns for DEI initiatives and practices; experience creating industry partnerships with minority-owned businesses and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of effective engagement OR potential to engage with a diverse student body. Clear potential to create a student-centered learning environment using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students. Research/Lab/Professional experience that includes working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Experience adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring. Clear potential for successful scholarly research and/or creative achievement in Entertainment Media Management.
