The Management Area of the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track, academic year position at Assistant/Associate Professor level in Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management. Interest and ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate (MBA) level classes is desirable. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) topics are a foundation of the material taught in our Organizational Behavior and Human Resource classes. The position is designed to strengthen Cal Poly's on-going efforts in enhancing DEI climate, thus the candidate is expected to incorporate a DEI emphasis in instruction and research.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must have completed a doctorate or equivalent degree in Business or a closely related field from an AACSB or equivalent accredited institution. The Ph.D. should be awarded by the time of appointment in Fall 2022.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate exemplary teaching, a strong publication record and research pipeline, and currency in their professional field. Applicants must have the ability to work with diverse students and engage diversity in the curriculum. The candidate must demonstrate a track record of and/or plan for incorporating curricular coverage of areas related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as to promote inclusive teaching strategies.

Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required. Applicants are expected to demonstrate exemplary teaching, a strong publication record and research pipeline, and currency in their professional field. Applicants must have the ability to work with diverse students and engage diversity in the curriculum.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to candidates who can teach one or more specialized courses covering content areas such as staffing, performance management, compensation, cross-culture management, or people analytics. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
