Position: Assistant Professor of Kinesiology-Athletic Training
Starting Date: August, 2022
1) Earned Doctor in Athletic Training or in a related field, including but not limited to, Kinesiology, Biokinesiology, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Health Science.
2) Evidence of teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
1) Evidence of teaching experience at the graduate level.
2) Documented experience in delivering instruction using high impact practices that feature community engagement, service learning, and/or active learning.
3) Evidence of scholarly activity, including, but not limited to publications, conference presentations, and grant writing.
4) Three years or more of athletic training experience
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities generally include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: athletic training, care and injury prevention, strength and conditioning, movement anatomy, sports nutrition. The successful candidate will be expected to mentor student projects and theses related to the specialization of the candidate. The successful candidate must be willing to participate actively in course and curriculum development, with the opportunity to create courses in their area of expertise.

Salary: Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The School of Kinesiology, Nutrition and Food Science focuses on the study of human physical activity, dietary practices, and food production processes. The School's mission is to prepare professionals to practice at the baccalaureate and masters level, conduct research, pursue graduate study, and engage in public and professional service. The overall goals of the School are to promote adoption of lifestyles that involve health-related physical activity and healthy eating at various stages of the lifecycle, and to encourage production of healthy, safe, and attractive food.
