Several positions availabe with KC Water Distribution Repair, Wastewater Repair and Wastewater/Stormwater Preventative Maintenance Division located at 1800 Propsect Ave.
Salary Range: $15.79-$23.16/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Thursday or Friday-Monday, 7:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.

DISTRIBUTION REPAIR: Assists in the installation and repair of water mains, valves, hydrants, curb boxes and restoration work. Cuts pipe, lays/joints pipe, removes/installs valves, hydrants and curb stops. Manually digs and cleans job sites and replaces safety and traffic control devices as well as other duties as required. WASTEWATER REPAIR: Make repairs to Wastewater sewer mains and lateral connections. Repairs manholes and breaks in existing gravity sewers and lateral connections. Participates in construction of shoring devices to be utilized in excavations. Participates in traffic control setup in work zones. STORMWATER REPAIR: Repairs catch basins, field inlets, drop inlets, self-relief wells, and break in existing mains. Repairs stormwater structures. Performs high water flood fighting by sandbagging and filling log gaps in levee walls. WASTEWATER PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE: Participates in cleaning the wastewater sewer collection system and combined sewer overflow structures through use of jetting, vacuum, mechanical reeling and bucket equipment. STORMWATER PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE: Installs, repairs, replaces, cleans and/or maintains stormwater inlets, channels, levees, and other related stormwater structures. Perform concrete work. Must be able to form and pour, curbs, sidewalks, and driveways for restoration.
REQUIRES high school graduation OR 6 months of experience in general labor. May be required to possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
