The purpose of this position is to coordinate administrative and clerical support, budget, and of day-to-day operations for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The position is assigned responsibility for a variety of ongoing and project-related operations from planning to completion and evaluation, and most important of which is being the main resources for the Chair of the Department. This position carries responsibility for a complex spectrum of departmental operations. Effectiveness depends on the application of clear, appropriate guidelines, knowledge of precedent situations, and the maintenance of consistency during the transition periods between the Chairs of the Department.
