The starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $3,470.00/month to $4,000.00/month.

About the Position

The IT@CSUEB management model is committed to operational excellence, establishing and maintaining highly responsive, helpful, supportive relationships, and open-minded, receptive collaboration - key ingredients for creating trust and multiple "wins" for the colleges, faculty, students, and staff. Within this framework, the Audio Video (AV) team designs, implements and maintains AV components, Utelogy application and system to meet the unique information technology needs of the University.

The AV Installer provides AV implementation, maintenance, and project participation. While providing primary work for Smart Classrooms, the AV Installer is expected to have a strong desire of all forms of AV, digital signage, meeting/conference room, and teaching environments. This position may also be assigned other projects/applications within the scope of AV. This position reports to the Supervisor of AV.

These are temporary, full-time positions through October 28, 2022.

Responsibilities
  • Install audio visual equipment (including but not limited to switches, projectors, cameras, speakers, screens and monitors)
  • Demo previously installed AV equipment
  • Build and wire AV rack and lectern
  • Pull and terminate cables
  • Provide project manager with daily communique
  • Inventory and document all equipment installed or removed

Other duties as assigned
  • Keep abreast of new I.T. developments; and additional duties, as assigned within the IT organization

Required Qualifications
  • Detail oriented
  • Self starter
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders
  • Familiar with operating power tools (drill, various saws etc.)
  • Familiar with different cable types (HDMI, cat6e, USB C etc.)
  • Ability to create and read AV drawing and schematics and building blueprints
  • Willing to adjust to schedule changes
  • Familiarity with computers and IP Networking Systems
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Proficient in MS office and or Google suite
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds or more

Minimum Qualifications
  • Foundational level of technology installation techniques
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of related education and experience

Preferred Skills and Knowledge
  • Previous experience with audio/visual installation and configurations

Condition(s) of Employment

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including LiveScan, as appropriate), that may include, but is not limited to: criminal records check, verification of academic credentials, licenses, certificates, credit history, professional references and/or verification of work history is required for employment.
