The Position

Portland Parks and Recreation is seeking Recreation Associate - Customer Service Representatives!

Recreation Associate - Customer Service

Responsible for providing quality customer service to anyone who enters the building, participates in activities and/ or calls seeking information or assistance. This includes frequent interaction with the public and Portland Parks & Recreation staff.

This is a part-time position with flexible hours and may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Work hours are often assigned verbally and depend on enrollment levels, needs of the program, and other factors. There is no guarantee of the number of hours needed each week nor the number of hours worked from week to week. Employees in this position serve at will.

WAGE RANGE:
Recreation Support - Customer Service: $16.50 - $19.25

  3. Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public.

Facility Front Desk Customer Service RepresentativeComplete registrations for activities and process and collect admissions for drop-in activities including aquatic and fitness programs, tennis courts, art studios. Book reservations, schedule lessons, sell concessions, process payments, answer phones, provide clerical support, take messages, and support facility rentals. Assist with cleaning and maintaining the facility throughout the day. Locations: Charles Jordan Community Center, Community Music Center, East Portland Community Center, Matt Dishman Community Center, Montavilla Community Center, Mt. Scott Community Center, Multnomah Arts Center, Peninsula Park Community Center, Portland Tennis Center, and Southwest Community Center. Shift times: Operational hours may include 5:30am-10:00pm.
SUN Community Schools Customer Service Representative
Greet and assist participants in person and/or over the phone and develop rapport with participants. Complete registrations for activities, provide clerical support, and track attendance reporting. Provide support to the afterschool program and meal service delivery. Assist with cleaning and maintaining the facility throughout the day. Open and close the facility and/or activity areas. Locations: Alice Ott Middle School, Arleta Elementary, Beaumont Middle School, Centennial Middle School, Faubion K-8 School, Grout Elementary, Lane Middle School, Mt. Tabor Middle School, Parkrose High School, Roseway Heights Middle School and Sitton Elementary. Shift times: afternoons and evenings, Mon-Fri.

Outdoor Fitness in the Park Customer Service RepresentativeProviding customer service to participants at group exercise classes in parks located throughout the City of Portland. Employees will use provided mobile devices and registration software to take payments, create accounts, and complete COVID 19 contact tracing requirements. Position includes monitoring physical distancing requirements amongst participants and sanitation of equipment. Locations: Columbia Park and Annex, Gabriel Park, Irving Park, Lincoln Park, Mt. Scott Park, The Fields Park and Ventura Park. Shift Times: Mon-Sat mornings. Program runs May through October.

Lifelong Recreation Customer Service Representative - Virtual Programs Facilitator
This part-time position provides customer service to participants, aging adults, by way of facilitation of virtual programs via digital platforms. Selected candidates will need to have access to a computer, with reliable internet service and be familiar with features of popular digital meeting platforms. Position will be responsible for logging-in early to classes and admit instructors first, then students, track participant attendance, and be available during the class to trouble shoot technical issues and track any participant comments via chat functions. Shift times: varied with classes Mon-Fri, both mornings and evenings.Closing Date/Time: 1/15/2022 11:59 PM Pacific
