The City of Newport Beach is seeking a Public Works Supervisor to join our team! We currently have one vacancy that will supervise and organize work crews engaged in facilities maintenance.SELECTION COMPONENTS:

A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience performing municipal operations, construction, and maintenance work in the assigned area of responsibility, including one year in a lead or supervisory role.
Education: High school graduation or equivalent, supplemented by specialized training in personnel supervision and/or construction industry operations.
License/Certificate: Due to the performance of some field duties, which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Class A or Class B driver's license is desirable.
Additional Requirements Depending on Assignment :
A Master Technician certification issued by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) in Automotive and/or Medium-Heavy Truck. A Fire Mechanic II or III certificate issued by the California Office of the State Fire Marshall (OSFM) is desirable.
A Certified Arborist certification issued by the International Society of Arboriculture.
A Qualified Applicator Certificate.Please Note:
