Position Description

The Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a Licensed Practical Nurse to actively participate on a multidisciplinary team providing care for children at PRTF North located in Sparks, NV.

Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) North is a 16-bed facility that provides psychiatric services for adolescents with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or social, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. Work responsibilities include: administering medications as prescribed by physicians and monitoring youth for side effects and/or allergic reactions; monitoring youth for safety; initiating and carrying out therapeutic, educational, social, and physical care activities; documenting the effectiveness of youth treatment goals; ensuring PRTF North maintains a safe, healthy and therapeutic environment for the youth we serve, and that nursing care objectives are met in accordance with the nursing association professional standards of practice and consistent with PRTF North policy. Licensed Practical Nurses provide general or psychiatric practical nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

This is a full-time position that will be located in Reno, Sparks Nevada. Minimum Qualifications
  • Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Nevada and two years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
