Position Summary

Under the direction of the Head Women's Basketball Coach, the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will support and enhance the mission of the San Diego State University Athletic Department. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the direction of the Women's Basketball program, performing a variety of coaching functions related to the sport of Women's Basketball in the Athletic Department. These coaching functions include, but are not limited to the following: recruiting, administrative duties, coaching, counseling, teaching, staging, fundraising, and public services.

This is a full time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2022, with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Six or more years of experience through a combination of two years of coaching and/or playing collegiate and/or professional basketball and/or director of basketball operations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of head coaching experience and/or interim head coaching experience and/or associate head coaching experience at the NCAA college level desired.
  • Has developed post players who have received national and/or conference honors.
  • At least one-year experience as a recruiting coordinator.
  • Master's Degree.

Licenses and/or Certifications Required:

Valid California driver's license within 10 days of hire.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $9,166 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,280 - $9,858 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
