This position serves as administrative support to the Head Men's Basketball Coach and the Men's Basketball program in the Athletic Department of SDSU. Acts as receptionist for the Men's Basketball office. Arranges travel, schedules appointments, maintains calendars, and schedules media requests for Head Men's Basketball Coach. Answers routine telephone calls; types correspondence; files; and prepares purchase orders, expense reports, and travel reimbursements. Assists in the planning and execution of recruit official visits.

This is a full time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2022, with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Education and Experience
Entry to this classification requires fundamental written and oral communication skills, including a sound foundation in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; an ability to understand standard office procedures; an ability to operate standard office equipment; an ability to learn office technology systems; an ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations; and typing and keyboard skills.
These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program or its equivalent and some experience in an office environment.
- Three or more years of general clerical office experience.
- Knowledge of NCAA recruiting practices and regulations.
- Administrative support experience in an athletic program.
- Customer service and public relations experience.
- Must represent the Men's Basketball office with a professional attitude and appearance.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with fellow employees and other campus staff, faculty, boosters, student-athletes, and community members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- General knowledge of basketball.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Licenses and/or Certifications Required:
Valid California driver's license within 10 days of hire.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $2,970 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $2,912 - $4,592 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
