SALARY RANGE:  $20.00 per hour (DOQ) with limited benefits package

Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  The purpose of this classification is to perform responsible professional, administrative, technical and instructional work in the delivery of fire and life safety education, with primary responsibility for developing, coordinating, and presenting public fire education and other fire prevention programs for the Collierville Fire Department.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:  An Associate’s degree with major course work in Education; supplemented by two (2) years of teaching experience in public education, fire safety education, planning, presenting classroom education curriculum, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. 

LICENSES:  Requires a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

SPECIAL REQUISITES:  Must have experience with social media (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), website management, and virtual classrooms.

NOTES:   Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderately heavy weight (up to 50 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.

 

Selection process may include: examinations, interviews, assessment centers, practical skills, etc. Drug testing may be required.
