Major Duties
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Student Outreach and Recruitment, the Guest Relations and Campus Tours Specialist performs moderately complex professional student service work coordination and oversight of the Guest Relations and Campus Tours area. The incumbent is responsible for the scheduling and assignments of the University Ambassadors and provides follows up process with visitors.
• Assists with the overseeing and training of student assistants and develops and nurtures positive working relationships with the University Ambassadors.
• Serves as the advisor and trains the University Ambassadors to conduct tours and assists with the production of materials for campus visits.
• Meets with groups of prospective students and their families to present and explain admissions procedures, application filing deadlines, costs, student services, and academic programs at CSUN.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a job-related field.
• Equivalent to two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
• A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Working knowledge of the practices, procedures and activities of Student Services and working knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational and program management. Working knowledge of research and interview techniques and the principles of individual and group behavior.
• Ability and specialized skills to: interpret and apply program rules and regulations; use initiative and resourcefulness in planning work. assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements.
• Ability to recognize various value systems and work accordingly; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, CSU administrators, student organizations, private and public agencies and others in committee work, and student advising and community contacts.
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions and carry through actions having implications with regard to other program or service areas.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
• The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
• Classification: 3082 / SSPII
• The anticipated HIRING RATE is $4304 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $4304 -$6120 per month.
• HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
• REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
