Reporting to the Director for Campus Planning, Design and Construction (CPDC), the Project Manager provides management and guidance for capital planning, design and construction efforts to plan and implement major and minor capital projects, deferred maintenance, critical infrastructure, and repair and alteration projects for Sonoma State University. The Project Manager oversees project(s) from start to implementation: leads efforts with development of planning, design, construction documents, permit processes, construction/implementation and closeout of assigned projects. Key Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience involving planning, designing, and managing construction projects, including 2 to 3 years of progressively responsible and applicable management and/or supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Experience with California State University standards, guidelines, processes, procedures, and terminology highly preferred. Graduate Degree, CA professional license, and/or LEED Certification preferred. Proficient in using standard office equipment, intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Knowledge of Google Suite, maintenance management systems, project management systems, scheduling systems AutoCAD, GIS (ESRI ArcGIS), BlueBeam, computerized facilities management software and systems and PeopleSoft preferred. The incumbent must possess and/or obtain and thereafter maintain a California Driver's License valid for the operation of any vehicle or equipment required to maintain and operate. Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $7,084 to $8,334 a month. This position is a member of the Management Personnel Plan and serves at the pleasure of the President.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
