Salary: $17.25 - $22.02 Hourly USD
This is a part-time, at-will position exempt from the classified service. This position will work a varied schedule of hours including nights, holidays and weekends. El Segundo Media staff positions are available with the following assignments: Camera Operator, Editor, Reporter, Communications Coordinator. All staff will be expected to Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with City staff, City officials, and community-members. In addition to the Essential Duties listed below, when assigned to these roles, the following will apply:
Write, edit, proofread and upload materials to the website, social media channels, and internal communications channels.
Monitor social media channels.
Provide creative support for internal and external communications efforts.
Research a variety of city-related issues and provide updates.
Provide administrative support as needed.
Operate video production equipment, including, but not limited to, cameras and camera support equipment, audio and lighting equipment, video switchers and routers, teleprompters and recording devices, playback and program scheduling equipment.
May perform work as producer, co-producer, director, writer, editor and/or talent for various projects.
Non-linear editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Media Encoder.
Graphic design and manipulation using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Audio mixing and color correction in Premiere.
File sharing and media management.
Research and pitch story ideas.
Write standard news-style scripts.
Report on community events and newsworthy activities occurring in the City of El Segundo.
Write Public Service Announcements (PSAs), special-interest profiles, VO/SOTs, and record voiceovers.
Anchor news show and host studio productions.
Produce and/or edit local feature segments, full-length programs, PSAs and promotional materials.
Provide administrative support as needed.
Under general supervision, this position performs all aspects of live, taped and remote Community Cable television production and operation.

Performs pre-to-post video production duties. Duties include; producing, production set-ups, directing, camera operation, editing and talent roles
Produces and/or edits local feature segments, full-length programs, public service announcements and promotional materials
Coordinates with appropriate Elected Officials, City Departments and public for any special programming and/or requests
Conducts Cable operations in absence of Program Manager, Production Specialist and Computer Graphics Designer
Two years of work experience in television or video production, that includes experience editing in a formal post-production environment -OR- a combination of education and training that would likely provide the knowledge and skills required for the position. Experience editing with Final Cut Pro is highly desirable.
