. The job duties of the Line Cleaning and Inspection Traineeand Crew Member I may include the following:
- Under general supervision, completes a variety of routine, semi-skilled, and manual tasks in the completion of wastewater collection system cleaning and inspection; works on an assigned crew providing assistance and support for routine labor tasks, such as pulling hoses, setting up traffic control for work sites and flagging, removing debris from sewer lines, preparing materials and tools, cleaning holding tanks, sewer lines, and other areas using high pressure hoses, saw blades, and other equipment, and taking inventory of materials on a work truck.
- Operates a limited variety of light duty equipment, and tools; follows established safety protocols for completion of safety sensitive work, such as wearing required personal protective equipment and following guidelines and directions for confined space entries.
To be eligible for consideration as a Line Cleaning and Inspection Trainee
, the candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalentand a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. This position has a maximum employment duration ofthree months, duringthat timetrainees must obtain their Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement. After receiving proper licensure,employment will continueas a Line Cleaning and Inspection Crew Member I. Pay will increase to $18.27 per hour.

, the candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalentand a ClassB CDLwithair brake endorsement and anacceptable driving record.Pay iscommiserate with experience.
One year of experience with light, medium, or heavy duty equipment is preferred.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments/agencies in a declared emergency situation.
Bothjobs are safety sensitive and require excessive standing and walking, exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, chemicals, heights, loud noises, raw sewage, and confined spaces. Both jobs also require lifting and carrying of80 pounds, pushing and pulling 75 pounds, climbing, bending, crouching, kneeling, and balancing.
