The City of Milpitas is excited to invite applications for experienced Civil Engineers!
The Principal Civil Engineer leads, supervises, plans, coordinates, and participates in one of the Engineering Sections of the Engineering Division or Building Department. Engineering sections include Design and Construction, Land Development and Transportation & Traffic. This position will manage the Land Development Engineering Section, overseeing new private development projects, review and approve private development plans, encroachment permits, and review maps for compliance with Municipal Code and the Subdivision Map Act. The Land Development Engineer will manage the City’s Community Rating Service (CRS) Flood Insurance Program, the City’s Municipal Regional Stormwater Permit, Franchise Agreements, and Landscape Lighting Assessment Districts. Extensive, recent local government and Land Development Engineering experience is highly desirable.
Examples of Duties
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or closely related field AND Five years of increasingly responsible civil engineering experience, including significant supervisory responsibilities. A significant portion of experience with public agencies is highly desirable.
License and Other Requirements
