We are seeking an experienced professional to perform routine and complex imaging procedures in Cardiac Sonography, while providing a safe environment for patients and fellow employees. As an Echocardiographer
, you will be assigned to the Radiology Division where you will perform various patient-related tasks in addition to image acquisition. The current vacancy is a Part -Time, Relief position.
The ideal candidate
will have proven experience performing standard echocardiograms, exercise stress echoes, dobutamine stress echoes, contrast material enhanced procedures and be able to assist with TEE procedures. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing and instructing patients for self-preparation prior to procedures, scheduling patients, data input for orders and billing, and report processing. As a result, the successful candidate must possess good organizational and communication skills and the ability to follow through on tasks to completion.
Examples Of Duties Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain the equipment and supplies used in echocardiography.
- Obtain standardized cardiac images of patient.
- Recognize and record appropriate anatomy and pathology using cardiac sonographic equipment.
- Select the appropriate image or mode to provide the cardiologist with necessary information through M-Mode, doppler and two-dimensional images.
- Recognize gross abnormalities that could be life threatening and notify the cardiologist immediately.
- Perform bedside examinations as needed.
Qualifications Knowledge of:
Applicable cardiac imaging equipment; regional and gross anatomy and physiology of the human body; principles, methods and techniques associated with cardiac sonography. Skill/Ability to:
Follow oral and written instructions; deal tactfully with patients and physicians; assist in instructing and training others; administer first aid and CPR; and position patients and make sharp, clear images of designated areas. Licensure/Certification for Imaging Specialist - Echocardiography:
Registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
