CCOE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANT

Charter College of Education - Dean's Office
Salary Range: $3,470 - $6,681 / Monthly
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; non-exempt classification; temporary position, expires on or before one year from start date; may be extended; may become permanent.
Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Resource Manager for the Charter College of Education (CCOE), the Information Technology Consultant (ITC) provides support for planning, organizing, implementing and operating a broad spectrum of computer-based systems in support of the CCOE mission and goals, in accordance with California State University and campus policies, standards, and procedures related to information security for the Charter College of Education and University. The incumbent provides consultation, direct support and training to College faculty and staff focused primarily in the areas of application software, database resources (e.g., Excel, Access and related systems), networks, and hardware support. The incumbent will support: continual updating of college websites (working with program coordinators and the CCOE Communications Specialist), accreditation-related websites/SharePoint sites/dashboards in coordination with college leadership and assessment coordinator, and will ensure compliance with current University website standards and regulations, test, install and troubleshoot computer hardware, software and related peripherals; ensure that all hardware and software meet campus baseline security and compliance guidelines, including operating system and software application security patches; provide support to keep inventory, plan, develop, implement and maintain computer-based applications; and evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades.
Required Qualifications & Experience: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study; and six months of computer user consultation with emphasis in a multi-platform computing environment. Incumbent must possess a foundational knowledge and skills in: technical information systems and application program packages; web design applications; equipment platforms (Mac and PC); reference database systems and sources; training methods; networks; data communication; multimedia systems and security; and Microsoft Office. Demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University. Desired Qualifications: Experience in an academic setting.
