Installs and replaces the City’s water and wastewater system and associated streets, alleys, and pavement as a member of a utility construction crew.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Knowledge of proper equipment used in the replacement of water, wastewater, and pavement systems. Ability to operate and perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, pumps, jackhammers, and concrete trucks as well as assorted hand tools. Ability to read work orders, plans and specifications, instructional manuals, maps and follow written instructions. Skilled in math in determining amount of materials needed and/or installed.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification
High school diploma or equivalent required plus one year of experience in installing and replacing water and wastewater mains and appurtenances and in installation and replacement of streets and alleys. Valid Texas Class B-CDL driver’s license and a good driving record.
