Will manage and serve as senior superintendent in areas related to construction, facilities, maintenance, and other senior level operations areas.
Experience in leadership. Knowledgeable in operation and maintenance of building support systems such as: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire & Security Systems. Ability to read, interpret and use plans, specifications, and schematic drawings. Ability to plan progress and execution of in-house construction and maintenance programs. Knowledgeable with proper use and accepted practices for associated tools and processes of various trades. Knowledgeable in the use and operation of Building Automation System principals and practices. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups through various modes of communication.
*Performs on-call duties as essential personnel of the Institution and at the direction of the Institution and Supervisors.
*Performs any and all duties deemed necessary and assigned by any supervisory level Facilities Operations personnel.
*Must have and maintain valid State of Texas Driver's License to be able to operate State vehicles to run errands and pick up parts.
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and five years experience related to assigned area; OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal nine years.
Nine years experience in supervision of building maintenance trades. Prefer two years formal training in an accredited institution plus seven years related experience OR a combination of education and/or progressively responsible related experience equal to nine (9) years. Job related experience from the maintenance and construction field that provides training and exposure to all aspects of construction and renovation projects and building facility maintenance and operations. Possesses good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and utilize O & M and construction documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics/issues to management. Ability to understand and apply principles and logic, problem solving with qualitative and quantitative analysis/scientific/system thinking to a wide range of issues. Ability to synthesize a variety of abstract and concrete variables to make decisions and then execute solutions or to provide recommendations to supervisors. Certifications and training in Building Automation and Building systems.
