Under the general supervision of the department chair, this position provides the full-range of administrative support to faculty, staff, students, and the general public as needed. The incumbent works independently and is responsible for a variety of complex administrative and specialized office functions to support the department in the areas of class scheduling and enrollments, financial analysis/planning and fund management (multiple accounts and allocations: operating expenses, IRA, discretionary accounts, lottery funds, college bases fees), the supplemental admissions process (portfolio review coordination and management), personnel (faculty and staff recruitment, appointment and evaluation; faculty retention, promotion and tenure), and operational oversight of the organizational unit under general direction of the department chair. The position also provides administrative support coordination for the accreditation and program review processes. Other essential functions of this position include: event coordination (advisory board meetings, faculty retreats, guest speakers and workshops), faculty candidate hosting and itinerary facilitation, alumni and donor relations and correspondence, and administrative support of curriculum review.
