Under general supervision, performs and supervises the activities of staff engaged in the inspection of buildings for compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Possession of a current International Code Council (ICC) Building Inspector certification combined with some college course work in architecture, engineering, or construction management AND five (5) years’ of progressively responsible experience performing complex building inspections, construction, or related work within a public entity plus three (3) years serving in a lead or senior capacity. Must possess at the time of application and maintain a valid California Driver’s License. Additional certifications in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical are highly desirable.
