PROFESSIONAL PLACEMENT COORDINATOR
Student Services Professional II
ECST Student Engagement
Salary Range: $4,304 - $6,120/Monthly
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; exempt classification. Temporary appointment expires on or before one year from date of hire; may be extended; may become permanent.
Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the Director of Acceleration Initiatives and Student Engagement, and working closely with the Associate Dean and the Director of Development, the incumbent will be responsible for the development and implementation of programs to prepare students for job placements and internships, and to serve as a liaison with employers in determining their needs for graduates and interns. The incumbent will work closely with the College Communications Coordinator to post positions and work closely with the Career Development Center to coordinate career related programs, services and interviews; and participate as appropriate in all College events and programs which influence the professional preparedness of our students. The incumbent will oversee daily operations of the job/internship placement office; maintain student records and related data; prepare reports, informational bulletins, and other types of publications; develop and maintain procedures, forms, and operational records as well as a current employee database to facilitate the career advancement of ECST students; and analyze market hiring trends and provide market surveys.
Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field. The incumbent must demonstrate customer service experience requiring a very high level of diplomacy, confidentiality and professionalism; and be familiar with university, college, major and general education requirements and their application to specific major programs. The incumbent must have excellent computer skills, proficiency with a variety of computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, database, online systems, internet, as well as online scheduling, email and general office protocols and equipment; and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The incumbent must have the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality; work as an effective team member in all aspects of the College of ECST and the University; gather and analyze data to develop valid conclusions and recommendations; and have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a STEM or business field or relevant employment in industry or experience working with STEM students in higher education.
