The Position: The Construction Management Department is searching for a tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor to start January 15, 2021 or August 2021, based on department needs and candidate availability. The position will depend on the applicant's qualifications.
California State University, Chico is seeking faculty who are competent in their field, and will be collaborative with colleagues and staff, and committed to student success.
Position is contingent on funding. For the purpose of calculating the probationary period, a year of service commences with the first fall term of appointment.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum education requirements for appointment to this position is a MS in Construction Management and 5 years' experience managing construction operations in the US. Applicants who possess an MBA, or MS Engineering degree with 6 years' experience managing construction operations in the US will also be considered. The experience must be at the management level that includes project management techniques to oversee and control a project's time, cost, safety, and quality as well as bid-build or design-build construction contract experience for commercial and institutional building or heavy civil projects.
Additional Requirements and Responsibilities for this position
Responsibilities: This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of undergraduate teaching, student Associated Schools of Construction competition team advising/coaching, scholarship and professional development, and service to the department, university, and community. Service includes student advising, serving on academic committees, the Industry Advisory Council, accreditation and outreach activities. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department. See the Construction Management Dept. Preference will be given to candidates with PhD, successful experience in teaching at the college level, expertise in Construction Equipment, Estimating, CPM scheduling and an understanding of most construction engineering concepts, in academic accreditation processes (particularly ACCE accreditation), active with construction professional and trade associations, experience in the commercial & institutional building industry, experience in the Heavy/Civil construction industry, management experience as multiple projects manager, or higher levels of construction company management such as VP.
