The Department of Business Information Systems at California State University, Chico, is searching for a probationary tenure-track assistant professor in Business Analytics to start August 18, 2021. Business Analytics develops innovative methodologies of using modern day computing powers to analyze big data collected by businesses to inform strategic and tactical decision-making. Our newly established Business Analytics Option in the BSIS program seeks to make Chico State a leader in this cutting edge, interdisciplinary field. Minimum Qualifications The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a Ph.D. in Information Systems or Business Analytics from an AACSB-recognized program by August 17, 2021. We also require research and teaching interests that include diverse data analytic techniques.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include a record of publishing in high quality academic journals and evidence of an on-going research stream, demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, experience in Business Analytics curriculum development, excellent written and verbal communication skills, versatility in teaching and mentoring, demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial manner, an interest in interdisciplinary work, and successful professional experience.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be well-qualified to teach Business Analytics courses, both undergraduate and graduate courses, willing to help curriculum development on the MS degree in Business Analytics, and be flexible in teaching other MIS courses based on department needs, regularly publish in high quality refereed, academic journals, and fulfill service obligations as appropriate.
