Under general direction of the IT Division Director, Finance and Administration (ITFA), the incumbent is responsible for independently overseeing and/or administering day-to-day administration of the IT Division operating budgets, providing budget control support, developing and maintaining budget and accounting systems. In addition, this position facilitates the management of University Operating Fund (UOF), Chargeback Fund (CB) Institutional Services Fund (ISF), Revenue Fund (Rev) and other accounts. This position analyzes data, identifies variances and investigates and resolves discrepancies. The incumbent provides training and guidance to other area support staff and students. This position leads the IT Division finance staff in opening and closing each budget year (overseeing encumbrance compliance in particular). In addition, the incumbent leads the IT Division Business Billing area (2 staff and 2 students).

This is a full -time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Education and Experience
Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
Specialized Skills Required
Experience with SDSU enterprise financial accounting systems (e.g. Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft Financials, SAP)
Familiarity with information technology budgeting practices.
Working knowledge of budgetary requirements from functional and technical level to fiscal analysis and management.
Knowledge level of SDSU/IT DIVISION billing and familiarity with billing systems.
Working knowledge of SDSU campus environment, policies and procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $5,000 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,897 - $7,051 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
