Salary: $9.10 - $14.36 Hourly USD
Provide exceptional customer service to patrons of varying ages and abilities, with enthusiastic, personal interaction. Greet and engage the public with team spirit and a smile, using sales techniques to suggest programs, memberships and on-going, return visits.
This is a Will Call position.
"Will-Call" status - Work when needed by the Aquatics Center. No set schedule.
Employees are hired as AT WILL employees that serve at the pleasure of the City and may be terminated at any time with or without cause.
Examples of Duties
Greets visitors at the cashier booth; provides information, may refer visitors to other offices.
Receives incoming telephone calls, transfers calls to appropriate extensions, takes messages and provides information.
Assists the public in the requisition and completion of registration forms for aquatics programs.
Assists with the issuance, return, storage, upkeep and maintenance of equipment, such as life jackets, within the facility.
Collects registration fees, gate fees, charges and deposits for classes and special events.
Maintains order and discipline at the pool entrance.
May perform clerical duties as position requires.
May assist with the planning, implementation, and supervision of activities, special projects and programs held at recreational facility.
Performs related duties as required and as directed.
Knowledgeable in areas of swim classes, competitive swimming, aquatics programing, and leisure activities associated with public swim facilities.
Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette and procedures.
Knowledge of the proper use of safety practices.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all ages, including interaction with children, adults, the elderly and persons with special needs. Ability to work a flexible work schedule. Ability to assist in special events and swim meets as needed.
Ability to perform clerical duties and have the ability to perform monetary transactions. Ability to write simple correspondence, respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, service vendors, coaches, local businesses or other staff members.
Ability to maintain facilities clear of safety hazards.
Ability to meet and deal courteously with the general public and establish and maintain an effective working relationship with departmental officials and other municipal employees.
Basic level of computer skills.
DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a standard high school or possess a GED from a recognized issuing agency with experience in recreation programs. Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered.
Position is scheduled approximately 24 hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends and
holidays. Must be able to work flexible hours.
