The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. Position Information
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking an Information Security Manager to manage the development and implementation of the Office of the Chancellors Information Security Program. This position is also responsible for managing and providing technical leadership for information security initiatives to include areas with CMS technical support for the Chancellors Office and twenty-three campuses as directed.

Under the general direction of the Chief Information Security Officer, the Information Security Manager will serve as a member of the CSU Information Security Management Team and will manage and provide technical leadership of the CO and systemwide information security projects. In this capacity the incumbent's responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
-Manage and oversee the process of gathering, analyzing and assessing the current and future threat landscape, as well as providing the Chief Information Security Officer with a realistic overview of risks and threats in the enterprise environment.
-Manage and provide leadership to ISM team in the implementation of the Information Security strategy.
-Identify process improvement opportunities and develop subsequent plans of action to resolve gaps with minimal management intervention.
-Work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer to develop budget projection based on short and long term goals and objectives.
-Develop procedures to comply with applicable laws, regulations and CSU policies governing information security and privacy protection.
-Manage day-to-day information security operations.
-Review, collaborate, and develop security documentation.
-Under minimum direction, manage an information security program that contains administrative, technical and physical safeguard designed to protect CO information assets.
-Suggest and lead in the development of risk management strategies to identify and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities to information assets.
-Manage, develop and present security awareness training materials.
-Facilitate and direct the timely dissemination for information related to information security and privacy protection.
-Working with ISM Leadership, Risk Management and Legal Counsel, provide primary lead activities in supporting CO and campus litigation processes, forensic activities and e-Discovery.
-Manage the technical duties related to CMS firewall requests.
-Assist with oversight of change requests and attend change request meetings.
-Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

This position requires:
-A Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology or a related degree, or equivalent years of overall education and work experience in an Information Security role.
-A minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible activities in supporting network and system security
-3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in forensics and forensic certified tools.
-2-3 years experience in supporting endpoint security software and network/cloud based security appliances.
-The ISM is a leadership role that requires a strong technical background in information security and forensics and incident analysis.
-As a member of the Information Security team. the ISM will need to have the ability to collaborate with the IT organization and other functional groups at the CO and systemwide.
-This position must also possess strong project management skills, strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills to fulfill the technical leadership responsibilities;
-excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong leadership skills;
-must be a self-starter; strong decision making skills and ability to work under pressure; strong organizational and interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with a wide variety of internal and external constituencies.

Preferred Skills:
-Information Security Certification (CISSP, GIAC, ISACA, SANS etc)
-2-3 years' experience and certification using Guidance Software enterprise and forensic tool set
Experience with Vulnerability Scanning tools, Qualys preferred.

The duties of this position will include participation in decisions that may have a material financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, the selected candidate will be required to file Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest when they first occupy the position, and on an annual basis, complete ethics training within 6 months of appointment, and attend this training every other year thereafter.
