Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of Administration, the Director of Internal Audit will provide independent and objective assurance and consulting services to protect, add value and strengthen management and oversight of the university and all affiliated entities (CSUSM Corporation, CSUSM Foundation, and Associated Students, Inc.). The Director will conduct periodic assessments and will develop and execute an internal audit plan to mitigate risk as appropriate. The Director will ensure campus entities have appropriate internal controls, effective and efficient processes, and good business practices. Working closely with other campus leaders, faculty, and staff, the Director will evaluate the effectiveness of the controls in place in order to manage significant risk exposures, ensure the integrity and reliability of information and financial reporting, safeguard university assets, and support compliance with laws and regulations. The Director of Internal Audit shall report administratively to the Associate Vice President for Administration with a dotted reporting line to the University President.

Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.
