MANAGER OF LIBRARY ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AND PLANNING

California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator II position.

The Position: Reporting to the Dean of the University Library and serving as a member of the Library's Executive Leadership Team, the incumbent provides leadership, oversight and coordination for the University Library's financial, personnel, planning and administrative services. The incumbent works closely with the University Library Dean and Associate Dean to develop strategies that ensure that the Library's resource allocation decisions and the Library administrative functions are aligned with university policies and operations and advance the mission and vision of the University Library. The incumbent oversees all aspects of resource management in the University Library, including developing and implementing financial and fiscal policy and procedures to govern and ensure the financial integrity of all financial resources. The incumbent supports the collaborative development of library policies and procedures; prepares documents and responses of all Library's financial audits and contributes to the Library wide strategic planning and assessment. The incumbent provides leadership in organizational development and oversees the recruitment and hiring of library staff and students assistants; supervises the library fiscal office staff; coordinates the performance evaluation for the Library's staff and student employees; and coordinates the development and deployment of training and professional development programs.

Required Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of related work experience. The incumbent must also have demonstrated experience in financial administration, human resource management, purchasing and/or contracting. The incumbent must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the areas of accounting, business administration and/or finance. The incumbent must have demonstrated project management and organization/analytical skills. The incumbent must also have the ability to supervise, evaluate, motivate and mentor library staff. Demonstrated interest and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications: A Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant subject area such as Business or Public Administration, Library and Information Science, Higher Education or other relevant field. Experience working in academic libraries or higher education environment. Demonstrated experience building relationships and collaborating with internal and external constituencies, including university faculty, administration, staff, students, academic institutions.

Appointment: The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
