Description: This is a probationary, tenure-track position in Communications/Public Relations at the assistant professor level, beginning August 17, 2020. Teaching: The successful candidate is expected to teach core and elective courses in Public Relations/Communications. The candidate must demonstrate ability to teach in the following areas: public relations theories, research methods, PR writing, PR campaign, organizational communication, and business and professional communication. The successful candidate will have an identified program of research that aligns with public relations. Experience in teaching public relations and/or professional experience in public relations is considered in the selection process. The ideal candidate is expected to maintain membership in the Public Relations Society of America and serve as advisor to the PRSSA chapter at CSUB.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism or a communication-related area.

Background Check: A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
