Employment Status: Full-time, probationary "exempt" position.
Work Schedule: General operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Under the general supervision of the Accessibility Services Coordinator, the incumbent will serve as a key technical advisor to the campus community on instructional materials and digital content accessibility-related issues. The incumbent will be responsible for the following job duties:
Utilize assistive software and accessibility tools to review and remediate digital content such as PDFs, documents, video and audio, presentations, etc.
Manage captioning workflow for the campus, including providing supervision to student employees, proofing and editing captions, adding them post-production, working with content creators across campus, interacting with an outside vendor, and offering training to staff and faculty.
Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to ensure accessibility of materials posted to the LMS, including serving as the content remediation lead for Blackboard Ally and ensuring online courses meet accessibility standards for course certification.
Collaborate with Services to Students with Disabilities to ensure that online courses in the LMS and multimedia are accessible to students with applicable accommodations.
Work cooperatively with various campus constituents to ensure that web-based digital content meets accessibility standards and guidelines.
Adhere to workflow that is determined by multiple priorities across various departments on campus.
Train the larger CSUSB community on best practices and develop documentation on accessibility techniques.
Direct support to Accessibility Services Coordinator in support of larger Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) goals by maintaining documentation and assisting the Accessibility Services Coordinator to compile ATI annual report to the CSU Chancellor's Office.
As Instructional Materials (IM) lead for the ATI, the incumbent shall serve as a key technical advisor to the Accessibility Services Coordinator regarding instructional materials and digital content accessibility-related issues and assist in the development of digital content related standards, policies, and documentation.
Assist in reporting on workflow and success metrics including the total number of projects completed on an annual basis.
Participation in various subcommittees and working groups, including the system-wide community of practice conference calls.
The incumbent will work collaboratively with other Accessibility Services staff.
Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent.
Working knowledge of document accessibility, including PDF remediation.
Working knowledge of captioning tools and workflows.
Knowledge of various state and federal legislation that pertains to accessibility.
Thorough working knowledge of digital content accessibility best practices and a familiarity with assistive technologies.
Working knowledge of disability laws and accessibility guidelines including the ADA, Section 508, EO 111, and UDL principles and best practices.
Knowledge and experience working with assistive technologies
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with constituents with diverse priorities.
Excellent time management, prioritization, and follow-up skills to ensure workflow progression within stated deadlines.
Master's Degree in a job-related field is preferred.
