The Department of Accounting, Finance & Economics at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites applications for a Tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Academic Year) with the appointment starting in Fall 2020.

Department of Accounting, Finance & Economics
The Department of Accounting, Finance & Economics has 21 full-time faculty. The department offers undergraduate concentrations in accounting, finance, and international business and a certificate in accounting. The department is a major contributor to our graduate programs. The College of Business Administration and Public Policy
The College of Business Administration and Public Policy consists of three business departments (accounting, finance & economics; information and operations systems; and management and marketing), the department of public policy and the applied studies program. The College houses 59 full-time faculty, 70 equivalent faculty counting part timers, 2100 undergraduate and 450 graduate students. The business major awards the largest number of bachelor degrees on campus. The business program is the second largest program in the university including both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The public administration program is accredited by NASPAA.

The Position
Teaching needs are individual and corporate taxation courses. The appointment is with a begin date of Fall 2020. Appointment and start date are subject to the availability of funds.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate must have a completed Ph.D. degree in accounting (preferably with taxation as doctoral concentration) from an AACSB accredited university or a JD with an MSc/MA in taxation. The selected candidate will need to be Scholarly Academic (SA) based on AACSB standards, by time of employment.

Responsibilities
Teaching duties may consist of day or evening classes. Teaching responsibilities will include both undergraduate and graduate courses, and likely include online courses. Additional responsibilities include research and service consistent with the mission of the University and the College of Business Administration and Public Policy. Published research in support of the mission is expected and required for tenure and promotion.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Applicants are required to have a completed Ph.D. degree in accounting (preferably with taxation as doctoral concentration) from an AACSB accredited university or a JD with an MSc/MA in taxation. The selected candidate will need to be Scholarly Academic (SA) based on AACSB standards, by time of employment. A commitment to teaching excellence and publishing research in quality journals is required.
• Applicants must have experience in teaching and working with colleagues from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.

Preferred /Desired Qualifications
• Besides possessing the minimum qualifications, the preferred qualifications include experience teaching taxation and willingness/ability to teach one or more of the following courses in the areas of Business Law, Governmental Accounting, Advanced Accounting, Accounting Information System, and Auditing.

CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
