ISD's Audio, Video and Security Systems Technicians (AVSST) plays a meaningful role in the daily efficiency and productivity of our Department. Our technicians have amazing opportunities to interact with a variety of individuals in an ever-changing work environment; working with our ISD Director, Chief Deputy, Law Enforcement, Executive Offices, internal and external County Departments, and the public. Offering the highest quality multifaceted technical expertise in video conferencing and CCTV repair and installation. Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
(You mustPOSSESS and CLEARLYEXPRESS detailed years' of experience performing relevant duties, related to the option below within your online job application under the "Experience" area andSupplemental Questionnaire, if applicable.)


OPTION I: Three years of experience in the installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, and repair of audio, intercom, closed-circuit television, and security systems and related equipment used in commercial, industrial or institutional settings, one year of which must have been at the journey-level*.

*Journey-level experience is defined as possessing the required knowledge, skills, and training to perform a full-range and diversity of work independently and reliably. Positions at this level operate with fairly significant freedom from day-to-day supervision and need little or no guidance on such matters as selecting appropriate problem solving methods and techniques, locating appropriate regulations, or applying proper procedures to carry out work.

No out-of-class experience will be accepted.

VISION:

Vision and color perception must be adequate to effectively and safely perform essential job related functions.

LICENSE:
A valid California Class C Driver License is required to perform job related essential functions.

Successful applicants for positions that require driving must obtain and present a copy of his/her driving record from the California State Department if Motor Vehicles before final appointment. Applicants should not present a copy of their of their driving history until asked to do so bt the hiring department. The County will make an individualized assessment of whether an applicant's driving history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job. License must not be currently suspended, restricted, or revoked.

Examination Information:

First, meet ourminimum requirementsabove. After that, our process includes a one part examination.

This test consists of a multiple choicewritten exam weighted 100%; which contains questions covering:
  • Knowledge Of Audio, Video and Security Systems

Per Civil Service Rules 7.19, test materials are not reviewable. Candidates must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on the examination in order to be placed on the eligible list.

Applicants that have taken identical test part(s) for this or any other exam within the last 12 months will have their test responses for the identical test part(s) automatically transferred to this examination. This examination contains test parts that may be used in the future for new examinations, Upon acceptance of your application, your score may be transferred to the new examination and you may not be allowed to retake any identical test part(s) forat least (12)months.

Physical Expectations:


Includes standing or walking most of the time, with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching; includes working on irregular surfaces, occasionally lifting objects weighting over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.
