Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of how DoD, Federal, and Air Force acquisition and contracting processes and lifecycles are executed and experience with developing acquisition and contracting strategies for Space Systems Command (SSC) in El Segundo, CA. Applicants will play a pivotal role in supporting the Government by participating in source selections, advising, plus aid in the management of existing IDIQ contracts and execution of acquisition strategies for any follow-on efforts. Successful candidates will also provide contract and subcontract management support by collaborating with Government Contracting Officers and contract specialists. The individuals will serve as key assets in driving the execution success of Hemisphere, leveraging expertise to navigate complex acquisition contracting processes, and facilitate the achievement of programmatic goals.Key Responsibilities Apply deep knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DoD contracting protocols, including traditional acquisitions and modern, agile methodologies under the Adaptive Acquisition FrameworkNavigate and manage contracting actions such as change proposals, solicitations, funding modifications, and award/incentive fee managementManage event-based processing of contractual documentation throughout phases, milestones, and reviews for mission programsProactive on task prioritization and execution, work seamlessly with team members with minimal supervisionExercise strong critical thinking abilities and problem-solving acumenEmploy proactive measures to mitigate problems, tasks, and challengesServe as an active contributor to government contract requests for proposals, technical evaluations, negotiations, administration, and leveraging expertise to facilitate informed decision-makingProvide contracts guidance and determinations; guides all levels of management on contractual rights and obligations, risk avoidance and mitigation, strategy, and problem solvingExercise sound judgment in interpreting contract terms and providing guidance to the business team to ensure compliance with contractual obligationsEnsure timely review and communication of contract modifications and pertinent notices to the business team, fostering transparency and claritySupport efforts to obtain requisite approvals prior to contract submission, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational protocolsDemonstrate awareness of U.S. Space Force organizations, understanding applicable organization roles and objectives in alignment with various customers and stakeholders' needs and mission objectivesExemplify outstanding written and verbal communication skills, coupled with proven leadership capabilities that foster effective team collaborationRequired 5+ years of proven practical expertise and relevant DoD, Air Force, and SSC work experience in contracts and subcontracts throughout entire acquisition lifecycle and processesBachelor's degree in related field (business administration, project management)Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibilityDesired Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) certificationCertified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) certificationPrior Procurement Contracting Officer (PCO) or Buyer experienceBasic Compensation $150- 190kThe offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.Work Environment Location: El Segundo, CATravel Requirements: Approximately 20% travel requiredWorking Hours: Standard 40 hours per weekAdditional Compensation KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
