This position is a key member of the Human Resources Team and is responsible for processing, recording and implementing changes to employee status, compensation and benefits within the City's Tyler Munis electronic payroll and human resources information management system (HRIS). Additionally, this position acts as a key liaison with payroll in the implementation of our new timekeeping system (ExecuTime) for maintaining accurate payroll records in compliance with memorandum of understanding (MOU), California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). A successful candidate will possess a high degree of technical skills with the ability to identify criteria to run various and complex reports, analyze and interpret data, and test software upgrades and troubleshoot issues prior to implementation. He/She will demonstrate a proven ability to problem solve, work with mathematical formulas and manipulate Excel spreadsheets, cubes and pivot tables.Selection Components:

Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the Human Resources Specialist I, or when filled from the outside, normally require prior public sector human resources experience.
