Job Description

This recruitment will be used to establish an open competitive and promotional eligibility list that may be used to fill this vacancy and vacancies occurring in this classification for a minimum period of six (6) months. Manages and coordinates a wide variety of planning development and oversight activities.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Manages and coordinates the work of assigned planning department staff; performs performance evaluations, develops staff, engages in employee relations. Creates, directs and manages strategic planning programs; assures structure of plans are defined to correspond with Metropolitan Planning Organization mandate; defines resource needs, timelines and priorities. Provides oversight and administration of programs, projects and contracts from inception to completion. Manages relationships with other local, regional, state and federal agencies. Develops, administers and monitors adherence to policies and procedures; responds to inquiries from staff and managers by providing information, interpretations, or resolution of issues/concerns. Represents the RTC in meetings with groups or individuals; answers queries and provides information/assistance as required. Participates in professional development sessions or seminars; stays current on trends, innovations and legal developments in the planning field. Supervises the production and maintenance of required reports, records and files. Operates a variety of office equipment, to include computers and associated software. Provides information and assistance to internal and external customers as required. Other duties as assigned.
