Sick Leave: All regular employees are credited with eight (8) hours of sick leave per month. Sick leave may be taken only after it is accrued. Employees accrue a maximum carryover of 960 hours sick leave. Employees may use their sick leave for personal illness, medical appointments or to take care of a sick relative. Eligible relatives include spouse, father, mother, brother, sister, stepmother, stepfather, grandmother, grandfather, children, stepchildren, grandchildren regardless of the sick relative's residence. Also included is any other relative actually residing in the same household. Insurance: Medical/dental coverage provided by the City for the employee at low cost. The employee pays higher premiums for optional coverage of family members. $15,000 life insurance is provided at no cost. Workers' Compensation: Provided for all personnel.
